With this piece I wanted to show the beauty in handmade objects. These are all pieces of test dye fabric that I stitched together to display work that goes into entirely handmade pieces.

Basking. Approx. 12"L X 8"W X 6"H. Found objects "And, though some of us like adventure travel, most prefer to sit in the sun like a rack of spareribs, basting ourselves regularly with sauce, and quietly frying, taking care to turn over so we'll be cooked on both sides" (A Natural History Of The Senses by Diane Ackerman) In response to the quote above, I saw a pig laying on the beach with barbecue sauce as tanning lotion. I used sand and water with other small objects to create a simple yet thorough visual of the description on how humans enjoy baking in the sun. Skinny. Approx. 4.5" X 9".
